Objective of Magnolia
Volunteer Fire Department
The objective of this
organization shall be to engage
in the activities of organizing,
operating, conducting, and
maintaining a volunteer fire
department for the purpose of
preserving and protecting life
and property. This is a
neighborhood based organization
operating from localized
stations and providing fire
prevention, education,
suppression services, rescue,
and hazardous material response
and other services as needed.
These services are provided
within the department's
chartered area and in response
to similar requests for mutual
aid to communities within the
area surrounding the
department's chartered area.
Membership
A member is a person who
contributes personal service in
pursuit of the objective of the
Magnolia Volunteer Fire
Department and who meets the
criteria hereafter stated for
obtaining and maintaining
membership.
To obtain membership a person
must meet all of the following
criteria:
- Station assignments for
applicants for membership
shall be based on the
geographical location of
where they reside, unless
they are paid personnel.
New member applicants will
report to the station they
are closet to. This
will be determined by road
distance.
- Be at least 18 years of
age
- Have a completed
application form on file
with the organization and be
voted in by the station
members.
- Applicant must be able
to read, write, and
understand the English
language.
- Applicant must be felony
free and shall not have been
convicted of any offense
other than minor traffic
violations with five (5)
years preceding the date of
application for membership.
NO individual will be
accepted for membership with
an arson conviction.
