Life and Fire Safety
Shows:
Our firefighters bring a
fire truck to your location
and give a safety talk to
the kids. They get to see
all of the tools, lights and
sirens on the fire truck,
after which, we invite them
to ask a lot questions.
Bunker (Fire) Gear
Demonstration:
The effect of seeing a
firefighter in full turnout
gear in a flaming,
smoke-filled environment or
in the classroom can be a
horrible, frightening
experience for a young
child. This demonstration
provides young children with
a positive, pleasant
experience of meeting a
firefighter in full turnout
gear in a familiar and safe
setting for the first time.
Be sure to mention you’d
like a Bunker Gear Demo for
the children when you
schedule your fire
department visit.
Clown Troop:
The clown troop performs
skits that make learning the
Life and Fire Safety (LAFS)
message FUN!!
Fire Pup:
Fire Pup is a wonderful
program developed by the
National Fire Safety
Council. Because of this
program, MVFD has been able
to present our students with
high quality fire safety
materials. This program was
made possible by the
financial support of the
generous individuals and
business owners in our
community. MVFD wishes to
thank all the donors of the
2007 Fire Pup Campaign, they
are as follows:
Magnolia Paint & Body,
World Petroleum Supply,
Inc., AmegyBank, Angel
Builders Construction
Enterprises, Living Waters
Assembly of God, Don &
Barbara Frazier, AAA Storage
FM 1488, R.E. Keefer Racing
& Training Stables.
Because of their
support, our community is a
safer place to live. Next
time you see them, please
tell them “thank you” for
their care and commitment to
the Magnolia Community.

Shattered Lives:
MVFD donates it’s time
and fire apparatus to this
highly effective bi-yearly
program at Magnolia High
School. Shattered Lives is a
program that is coordinated
by the Montgomery County
Hospital District. It
teaches high school juniors
and seniors about the
consequences of drinking
alcohol and getting behind
the wheel of a car. A large
part of this is done by
staging a very realistic
wreck scene, with emergency
personnel responding to this
call as if it was a real
emergency. Go to the
Shattered Lives website to
read more about this life
changing program and to
watch videos of past
programs:
